職人が手掛ける、国産ハンドメイドの逸品

“＆CAT”のプロダクトは、東海エリアのものづくり職⼈によるハンドメイド。岐阜・多治見、飛騨高山の家具職人によるキャットハウスやベッド、キャットタワーは、オーダーを受けてから⼀つひとつ丁寧に⼿作りしています。また、使⽤している陶器は、古くから“美濃国”と呼ばれる地域で生産されてきた陶磁器「美濃焼」。起源は奈良時代の“須恵器”とされ、現代まで進化し続けてきた、1300年の歴史ある器です。美濃焼の器に無垢鉄を組み合わせたフード＆ウォータースタンドは、岐阜県関市にある「杉山製作所」と作り上げました。

EXQUISITE CREATIONS HANDCRAFTED BY ARTISANS, MADE IN JAPAN

“&CAT” products are handmade by skilled artisans in the Tokai region. Cat houses, beds, and cat towers crafted by furniture artisans in Gifu’s Tajimi and Hida Takayama are meticulously handcrafted one by one upon receiving orders. Additionally, the pottery used is “Mino ware,” a type of ceramic produced in the region historically known as “Mino Province.” Its origins trace back to the Nara period as “Sue ware,” and it has continued to evolve over 1300 years, culminating in the rich history of Mino ware. The food and water stand that combines solid iron with Mino ware is created in collaboration with “Sugiyama Seisakusho” located in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture.

計画伐採材を用いた、環境にやさしいプロダクト

日本で加工される家具の多くは、海外からの資材が使われていますが、“＆CAT”のキャットタワーとウォーターボウルの木台には、東北地方の山々の計画伐採材を使用しています。自然保護のため計画的に伐採される国産の原材料を使用することで、木材輸送時の環境負荷（ウッドマイレージ）を軽減するなど、環境への配慮にも取り組みました。また、木製の家具と同じように研磨やオイル塗装などのメンテナンスを行うことで、永くご愛用いただけるサステナブルなプロダクトです。

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY PRODUCTS USING PLANNED LOGGING MATERIALS

Many of the processed furniture in Japan often utilize materials sourced from overseas. However, for “&CAT,” we use planned logging materials from the mountains of the Tohoku region for the wooden bases of our cat towers and water bowls. By using domestically sourced materials that are harvested through planned logging for the sake of nature preservation, we have taken steps towards environmental consciousness, reducing the environmental impact of wood transportation (wood mileage) and other considerations.
