Catch sight of it and the space around it goes still. KANON is a bowl for cats that carries that kind of presence. The footed form, with shinogi facets running down a tall foot, has the weight of a craft object without ever asking for attention - it simply sits there. At 10.5 cm high and 15 cm across, wide and shallow, it suits short-legged cats and flat-faced cats, letting them lower their face at a natural angle. One shape that answers both how easily your cat eats and how the room looks.

A natural posture, even for short legs and flat faces.

The 10.5 cm pedestal suits short-legged breeds such as Munchkins and flat-faced breeds such as Persians and Exotic Shorthairs. They can reach the food without straining, and their posture stays steady through the meal.

Wide and shallow, so whiskers stay clear.

15 cm across and 3.5 cm deep. The open shape keeps whiskers off the rim while your cat eats, so nothing builds up as an irritation. They finish the bowl calmly.

Light in the hand, steady on the floor.

Around 500 g. Light enough to lift and set down easily, heavy enough not to slide as your cat eats. Picking it up, putting it down and washing it never becomes a chore.

Food, or water.

Filled with water it holds around 270 ml, so it works as a water bowl too. Put two side by side, one for food and one for water. A matching pair quietly settles the corner they sit in.

Porcelain, so it stays clean.

Porcelain barely absorbs moisture, which makes it easy to keep hygienic. Microwave and dishwasher safe.

The shinogi facets cut into the foot catch the light and throw soft shadows. Vintage-modern in feel, it is a cat's bowl that still leaves a composed kind of space around it.

Made at a Tajimi kiln, one at a time.

Each piece is made by potters at a kiln that has been working for over a century in Tajimi, Gifu - the home of Mino ware. The way the glaze pools and the way the firing lands make every piece its own.

Five colors, with Light Gray as the newest.

White, Bronze, Amber and Oribe green, now joined by Light Gray. The glaze shifts and shadows change the impression depending on the angle of the light, settling gently against your cat's coat and your interior.

Set the whole feeding spot, not just the bowl.

For the surface underneath, there is the FIKA food mat.
Solid oak framing a ceramic tile, sized to take a food bowl and a water bowl side by side. Spills wipe away - there is nothing to wash. At around 2.2 kg it stays put even when your cat steps on it, and the wooden frame has a recess on each side so you can lift it easily.
