CHALICE / food bowl was created under the supervision of Annie Animal Hospital's deputy director, Midori Morioka, with the aim of creating a dish that is truly gentle on cats.
The 13cm elevated base reduces strain on the neck and joints. Every detail has been carefully considered to allow you to enjoy your meal in a natural posture. The shallow, gently flaring bowl shape avoids irritation to the hairs and reduces spitting and spills. This dish is a perfect embodiment of the gentle feel it provides.
It weighs approximately 780g. It sits quietly and is stable enough to withstand even a cleaning robot's impact. Its smooth surface and hygienic, water-resistant design make it porcelain-friendly. When you run your finger over it, you'll feel a smooth, quiet sensation, and you'll sense the purity that resides within the vessel. It's also microwave and dishwasher safe, making it user-friendly.
All of the vessels are handcrafted by skilled artisans at Mino ware kilns with a history dating back 1,300 years. The glaze fluctuations and the shades of the fired color are unique, and each piece is imbued with its own individuality and expression. The linear form, stripped of all unnecessary elements, is minimal yet richly expressive, blending with the space while exuding a sense of tranquility. The fluctuating scenery depicted by the glaze reflects the quiet passage of time and brings a subtle sense of space to the space.
