A small bowl,
with everything it should have.
A kitten's mealtimes are a record of how fast they're growing. CHATON BOWL exists to make those small daily moments easier. At 12 cm across and 6 cm high, it keeps the load off the neck and joints so a kitten can eat with its posture intact. The form is the same as HM BOWL, the water bowl. Mino ware porcelain set on solid walnut from Hida-Takayama - a quiet, composed pairing that makes a small table setting worth looking at.

Compact, and sized for a kitten.
12 cm across and 6 cm high (4.7 × 2.4 in) - a size that asks little of a kitten or a small cat. Steady enough for them to eat in a settled posture, and right for a first bowl.

Rounded inside, so they finish every corner.
The interior curves rather than meeting at an angle, so food doesn't collect where they can't reach it. Even a small cat gets through the whole meal.

A kind height for short-legged breeds.
For Munchkins, Minuets and other short-legged cats, and for small adult cats. The low height supports a posture they can hold without strain.

It comes apart to clean.
The porcelain bowl lifts out of the wooden base. The bowl is dishwasher safe; the base just needs a dry cloth. Easy to keep clean, and easy to keep using.

Mino ware porcelain and Hida walnut.
Mino ware, with 1,300 years behind it, and handwork from woodworkers in Hida-Takayama. The two materials together carry stillness and warmth at once.

A treat dish, or a tray for small things.
For an adult cat's treats, or as somewhere to put your keys and jewelry. It's minimal enough to step outside the pet-product category and just live in the house.

Three colors that soften a room.
Kinu, Mizugaki and Shiraai. All three are muted Japandi tones that quietly settle the space around them.

When they grow, move up to HM BOWL.
There is also HM BOWL, the same form one size larger. Add it as your cat grows and the feeding area keeps its consistency. Using one for food and one for water works well too.

Set the whole feeding spot, not just the bowl.
For the surface underneath, there is the FIKA food mat.
Solid oak framing a ceramic tile, sized to take a food bowl and a water bowl side by side. Spills wipe away - there is nothing to wash. At around 2.2 kg it stays put even when your cat steps on it, and the wooden frame has a recess on each side so you can lift it easily.
Make your cat's meal corner part of the room.

Care & Cautions
• You may see variation in the glaze, small black specks, or pinholes - tiny pinprick-sized dots in the glaze surface. These come from minerals in the clay and the glaze reacting to the heat of the kiln. They are not dirt, and they are not faults.
• Every piece is made by hand, so shape, dimensions and color vary slightly even within the same product.
• Ceramic can crack or chip if it takes a hard knock.
• Stop using a piece that is chipped or cracked - it can cause injury.
• Do not scrub with metal scourers, powdered cleansers or hard sponges. They will scratch the surface.
• If you set the bowl directly on the floor, we recommend putting a mat underneath to protect your flooring.
• Wipe the wooden base with a cloth wrung out well in water.
• The wooden base may develop fine cracks over time as the wood ages.
• Product photos are edited to come as close to the real colors as we can, but the shade you see may differ depending on your monitor settings and the lighting in your room.
• Specifications and appearance may change without notice as we make improvements.
