Cats spend most of the day asleep. But much of that is light sleep - it is said they only get about an hour of genuinely deep rest. Which is exactly why they need a quiet place they can hand themselves over to completely, at any hour.
The FABRIC BED [&CAT Exclusive] was made for us by Onddoka, a brand built around fabric and handwork. Onddoka takes the offcuts left over from making clothes and carefully remakes them into things for the home; we brought &CAT's own quietness and sense of beauty to that idea.
The bed is an oval, shaped to follow the curve of a sleeping cat's back. The rim is built up thick, so your cat can rest their chin on it or sink down into it - it takes whatever position they choose without fuss.
The check side uses the same fabric as KOPAN the Mouse and the Linen Square Toy. The dry, crisp hand of linen meets the smooth softness of rayon, which suits the warmer months well.
Turn it over and you get a dark gray in cotton and linen, warmer against the body, made for fall and winter.
Two faces with two characters, so you can switch by season or by mood and keep using the same bed all year. Nothing to store away, and it settles easily into a room.
The sewing is done by a long-established bedding maker here in Japan. Years of experience go into a fill that holds its loft and gives just enough - soft without letting your cat sink into a bad position. It quietly sets your cat's sleep right, every day.
