HAyU × &CAT “KERI KERI”
A gentle moment of art and cats.
“KERI KERI” is an exclusive kicker toy for &CAT, designed from the three-dimensional wire artworks of artist HAyU (Manabu Ogawa). The cat and fish forms, originally shaped from iron wire, have been translated directly onto fabric prints, carrying the air and expression of the original sculptures.
Variations include “Cat” and “Fish.” The toy is lightweight and airy, with a built-in crinkle sound that sparks a cat’s playful curiosity.
Cat — “Marching Calico Cat”
This motif comes from HAyU’s iconic “Marching Series.” Originally intended as a bronze sculpture, this side-profile design has also appeared in goods and textiles. Here, it takes the form of a whimsical calico cat, mid-step, filled with HAyU’s signature humor and vitality.
Fish — “Playful Horse Mackerel”
One of HAyU’s classic motifs, the horse mackerel (“aji”), is reimagined as a cat toy. Familiar and approachable, its near life-size form makes it perfect for cats to grab and kick. Even the distinctive “seigo” (lateral spines) are carefully expressed, offering sculptural detail with artistic appeal.
Not only for play—the loop at the top lets you hang it on a wall or hook, where it brings the feel of an art piece into your space. Each piece is sewn with care at domestic factories in Japan, ensuring both quality and design for a toy cats will use daily.
Lines born from HAyU’s hands, met by a cat’s movements.
That moment itself becomes art.
Even the way a cat plays with it looks like a picture. Even just displayed, it brings a sense of ease. “KERI KERI” is a cat toy that gently inserts art into everyday time and space. Perfect as a gift for art lovers, or as a thoughtful present when beginning life with a cat. Not just “cute,” but a kicker toy that embodies “beauty” to be cherished and shared.
