Cats everywhere, all with lovable, faintly comic expressions. A cat rolled into a ball, a cat drawn up tall, a cat mid-stretch. One sprawled out taking its time, one staring right back at you. The free, unhurried cat pattern that covers the blanket softens something in you just by being looked at.

The design is by Kahori Tsuboi, who works as a "daily-life painter" - someone who sets down whatever she happens to feel in the course of a day, honestly, as it comes. There is a gentleness in how she looks at things, and a sense of play. "I want people wrapped in cats, buried in meowing." That is where nekomoyou started.

The fine jacquard weave gives it a depth and warmth no print can reach. Blue and beige laid over a black ground, so it reads like a piece of art in the room. Over the sofa, at the foot of the bed, spread out for a picnic or at a campsite. The fabric is light enough for any season, and it washes whole, which counts for a lot.
