The base, crafted from solid iron, has a clean, stripped-down structure, with a perfectly circular base and top connected by a single, sharply angled line. Its beauty resides in a sense of balance reminiscent of architecture, eliciting a quiet emotion in the viewer. Despite the heavy material, the piece has a somewhat light and refined appearance, making it seem more like an object that decorates a space than a vessel.
This iron stand was made in a workshop in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, a city famous for its blades. Craftsmen with over 20 years of experience have carefully handcrafted each piece, from welding to chamfering. Its weight of approximately 1,700g provides a solid sense of stability, and it won't easily tip over even if a Roomba or cat bumps into it.
The bowl is made of Mino-yaki porcelain, a material produced in Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture. Its 14.5cm diameter and 4.5cm depth hold a generous 500ml, and it is designed to fit on a 15cm high stand, allowing your cat to quench its thirst in a natural position.
Porcelain does not absorb moisture easily, is removable, and is microwave and dishwasher safe. Cleanliness and ease of use are also important features that will be useful in your daily life.
