Set it down and the air in the room loosens a little. OYATSU PLATE is a dish that adds a spoonful of quiet and beauty to the unremarkable moments you spend giving your cat a treat. A porcelain plate about 9.5 cm across, made by craftspeople in Tajimi, Gifu. Easy to handle, but with enough presence to feel properly made - it softens your cat's time and your own.

Around 9.5 cm across (3.7 in) and 100 g. Small enough to pick up easily, and small enough that even a few treats look considered on it. The right plate for days when it's just a little something.

Hand-finished, so no two are the same.

The character of the clay and the movement in the glaze give each plate its own face, and no two come out alike. A small one-off from a Tajimi workshop.

Shiratsuchi and Sumiguro, each showing things differently.

Soft Shiratsuchi makes pale kibble and freeze-dried treats easy to see, and reads as clean. Sumiguro makes the color of the treats stand out, and photographs well. On both, the glaze isn't taken all the way across - some of the warm clay body is deliberately left bare, so the handwork shows.

Porcelain, so you can use it without thinking.

Porcelain barely absorbs moisture, which keeps it easy to keep clean. Microwave and dishwasher safe, so it fits into an ordinary day without ceremony.
